I was scrolling through potential photos for Cathy of Words and Herb’s annual Week of Flowers meme, and was taken aback by this shot of one of the bold borders at the end of June, as I really don’t remember it looking like that, with all those bushy geraniums! No doubt there will be more surprises for me as we progress through the week…
What a lovely surprise for you. I shall head over to Cathy’s blog and join in with this challenge too.
It’s strange how I didn’t remember it, but I suppose there was a lot going on in the garden at that time… π
Gorgeous!
So lovely!
I am surprised how uplifting it is to go through photos of flowers in the garden over the past year. It has really given me a boost. π
Oh that’s good to hear Sandra – I know I enjoyed ‘flicking through’ my posts to choose pictures…
Difficult to beat a border overflowing with geraniums.
You are probably right, Christine π
Geraniums are stalwarts of the summer borders and go on and on and on.
If chosen judiciously, as I am pretty sure these ones didn’t flower all season. I know the ones that appears with the peony in my gravatar only flowers for a few weeks in May (unfortunately)
Yes, the G. x magnificum only flowers for a month at most. A beautiful large flower, but fleeting.
It was one of the few plants that came from my parent’s previous garden, and has moved with me a few times, so it will always be special to me, despite its fleetingness
Well worth having and easy to split and move around the garden.
Bold and beautiful, doing its name justice! Enjoy sifting through all your summer photos Cathy. That is a big part of the fun of this meme! π
Indeed it is! π
