Bark is an under-appreciated element in the garden. My Arbutus ‘Marina’ (strawberry trees) shed very much like that and I find it and the sleek trunk revealed after it’s shed very beautiful.
Fascinating bark. I remember some displays at Kew Gardens in London that focused on bark. There are so many unique trees with unique bark. Great WW post.
Beautiful bark!

Thanks Beth. There are so many different textures, aren’t there, as well as colours?
Beautiful! I would like to step into your photo Cathy and have a close up inspection.
The bark has got better as the tree has aged, Anna
