I have ‘Blue Angel’ too cathy scabbling through rosa ‘Blush Noisette’ – just wish that one flowered later or the other sooner 😂 The rose is usually past perfection by the time angels fly. Have you ever taken cuttings of the clematis? It’s a beauty.
I have tried other clematis cuttings, but without success – what’s your advice?

Thanks, that would be helpful – I did follow Jon the Propagator’s recommendations but without success…
Mine did not wake up this year. Drought. Yours is lovely, lovely, lovely, with the little bit of ripple on the tepal margins What are the beautiful leaves of the surrounding shrub? Hydrangea?
Oh that’s a shame – might it recover? I try to remember to water my clematis in really dry periods, but with so many it doesn’t iften happen! This one is growing through climbing rose ‘Claire Austin’
