Thanks Chloris – last year was the first time I really succeeded with my outdoor ones, sown at the end of January. Previously I had sown in autumn. I am well chuffed now, having finally cracked it!

Instead of sowing them in the autumn and overwintering them I now sow at the end of January – it works for me, here in the UK
