Wow that’s impressively early. Mine are still in seed trays!

    • Cathy says:

They were sown in early February and actuallly had buds on when they were still quite small, before they were planted out, but I nipped them off. They are still less than 12″ tall but at least they have settled in and are establishing well

  2. Wow, very nice! I simply scattered seed a few weeks ago, so mine won’t bloom until summer. They are lovely flowers, aren’t they? 🙂

    • Cathy says:

I suppose mine take about 3 months from an early sowing inside, but they won’t reach their full height for another month at least

  3. Ah! Just planted the seeds! It will take awhile up here in the north to see them blooming.

    • Cathy says:

I sow all my annuals inside as I haven’t any clear space in the borders, and at least I can nurture them into strong plants befor they go out. I am so excited when my main seed sowing starts at the end of January and can hardly wait to begin!

  4. Cathy says:

Wow, mine aren’t even planted out yet! What a nice start to the ‘annuals’ year!

    • Cathy says:

They are often the first of my annuals to start flowering, although there are buds on some cornflower and limonium too

  5. Cathy is your first Cosmos and it is wonderful to see her so soon. It is divine, its color is glorious: I love it. It is magnificent. Very affectionate greetings from Margarita x

  6. Anna greentapestry says:

Blimey – that’s early Cathy ! When did you sow the seeds? A striking colour.

    • Cathy says:

Sown 5th Feb, Anna – so about 3 months. They do try to flower much earlier, when they are still in their trays, but I nip the flowers off
