That’s sad, but mine have finished flowering too even though there’s been no frost here yet
And it is now going to take a little longer to fill my vase next Monday…
And in more ways than you know this morning….well you probably know!
Yes, it crossed my mind as I wrote the title, Donna. But hey! It is so good to hear from you, as it seems ages. I hope you are more yourself now, even though I suppose you will need to be hunkering down for the winter now
But it has been wonderful having dahlias from the plot in November, mine usually get zapped late September.
Yes, we should be grateful it has been as late as this really – and I must check back to see when they were finished last year

Oh Kris, I suspect there are many others who feel the same in the circumstances, and definitely dahlia related…
A good title for today, very apt.
I realised as I wrote it that it was in fact appropriate in a much wider sense today…
Always sad to see the dahlias submit to the frost. Winter is on its way.
I have hesitated to use the word ‘winter’ yet, Dorris – just a late autumn frost 😉
This raised a wry if not sad smile from me, too ….
