Those are very double – amazing!
Too double perhaps?
No!!!! Because they have no foliage they do look naked but being double they somehow look more clothed.
Yes and lovely as these water lilies are, they collapse all too soon.
Indeed, although these have lasted longer than they sometimes do as there has been little rain
She sure is a beauty.
And has clumped up well
You had me fooled there, I thought you meant actual water-lilies! I love the autumn crocus but I didn’t realise there is a double variety. What a little beauty, a shame they collapse so quickly, but they do add a splash of vibrancy at this time of year.
I have planted some white ones these year, but amongst other planting so hopefully less chance of flopping
Aren’t they a gorgeous colour in the Autumn garden? I like to see them growing fairly sparsely in rough grass under trees then their collapse is almost unnoticeable.
Yes, growing in grass would look most effective but grass is minimal here so there is nowhere suitable!
Wow never seen those
Very pretty, but a bit over the top with petals perhaps?
Oh who cares!
[D] What an amazingly vivid colour – but not over-saturated, it is both vivid and delicate.
Yes, it is always a surprise when they appear – which they do very suddenly!
Drama! I think they are well-clothed with the surrounding foliage. Just planted my first ever fall blooming crocus and am enjoying them greatly.
I have planted some white ones this autumn so look forward to seeing them next year – although there is a chance the may flower this season…
