Those are very double – amazing!

  2. Chloris says:

Yes and lovely as these water lilies are, they collapse all too soon.

You had me fooled there, I thought you meant actual water-lilies! I love the autumn crocus but I didn’t realise there is a double variety. What a little beauty, a shame they collapse so quickly, but they do add a splash of vibrancy at this time of year.

Aren’t they a gorgeous colour in the Autumn garden? I like to see them growing fairly sparsely in rough grass under trees then their collapse is almost unnoticeable.

  5. [D] What an amazingly vivid colour – but not over-saturated, it is both vivid and delicate.

  6. Drama! I think they are well-clothed with the surrounding foliage. Just planted my first ever fall blooming crocus and am enjoying them greatly.

I have planted some white ones this autumn so look forward to seeing them next year – although there is a chance the may flower this season…
