Rainbow Dreadlocks

IMG_6876IMG_6879What do you do with a pile of felt in rainbow shades left over from a Christmas project several years ago (when not using them as a backdrop for vases on Mondays)?

You cut strips from them and make rouleaux, struggle to thread your flexible soft-tie through them before realising they are too narrow, cut more strips and make wider rouleaux, thread your flexible soft-tie through them to make a 5 metre long flexible rainbow strip and use it to restrain your wayward fatsia of course!

Job done, and most satisfactorily so…

  4. A great idea, I need some of these for staking.

I use strips cut from panyhose, but these are much more artistic.

Hmm – and I wear coloured tights of various hues, so perhaps… 😉 The fatsia is large and heavy though and the soft bendy wire does a great job in supporting it without puttting a strain in the stems

  6. You are, as ever, inspirationally creative. I’m afraid I just couldn’t be bothered…

Thanks Janet – I pondered over the ‘couldn’t be bothered aspect’ and know that this is unlikely to ever be the case for me…;)
