Tension mounts for plants
Tucked up warmly all winter
Now tightly furled shoots
Joining in with Ronovan’s haiku challenge (challenge words ‘tight’ and ‘warm’), Wild Daffodil’s photo challenge (challenge word ‘tension’) and, albeit concisely, recognising the emergence of new shoots throughout the garden as part of Christina’s Garden Bloggers Foliage Day meme. Thank you to all of them for hosting the challenges.

Looks as if that was a real battle to fight through the stones. Thanks for participating in GBFD.
Wow! What an amazing photo, Cathy. Life always finds a way. Loved the haiku!
You have these memes all wrapped up neatly in one haiku, perfect.
Such creativity to combine all those things!
I love the contrast in textures in this photo adding to the sense of tension – the sharpness of those stones! Capturing a moment in the circle of life. Great haiku!
Excellent expression
Unfortunately I encounter those irresistible plant forces all the time myself, and they are usually not that attractive. Cool haiku, Cathy.
Well done, Cathy, to participate in three memes, with one post! 🙂
Thanks, Ali. Linking it to GBFD was a spur of the moment decision – but it fitted it so well it would have been a shame not to.
It is a tense time of the year isn’t it waiting to see what will do well this year.
same for us all, isn’t it;)

An incredible image and what a subject for the amazing haiku
Thanks Denis
Your haiku is lovely (the “tension” is fairly palpable) and what a perfect photo to capture the mood!
Thank you
