Beautiful Cathy and lots more to come. I still have no buds opened on mine so I will just have to enjoy yours. A very happy Christmas to you and the Golfer.

I imagine that is a most unexpected but most welcome Christmas present 🙂

Oh thanks Anna – I do think about you from time to time and wonder how you and your little bean are. Hope all is going well and that you all had a lovely Christmas 🙂

What a nice Christmas surprise! Thanks for a great blogging year, there’s always something new and interesting to be found on your rambles and it’s always enjoyable.
I wish there were some words of encouragement or threats you could pass on to my own h “pallida”, it’s taken two years off from blooming and is developing a reputation for laziness. Too much drought and sun I’m sure, but couldn’t it squeak out just a few blooms? At least I can look forward to your collection!

    • Cathy says:

Yes Frank – and FIVE witch hazels flowering for Christmas, amn’t I the lucky one! I have to confess that Pallida was the last one I sneaked into the garden last year and I sort of hid it in the woodland edge border – but decided a week or two ago to allow it shine forth somewhere more prominent 😉 Yours sound like it needs a good kick up the … well, something!

I planted H. ‘Early Bright’ last year and it is doing its thing far ahead of ‘Diana’. I love the subtle coloration of yours.

    • Cathy says:

Thanks – I have to admit I do prefer the reds and oranges to the yellows – and Harry will always be my favourite 🙂
