At last! Galanthomania kicks in again. We are going to be spending the next two or three months, book in hand, peering at little green shoots. And counting little green marks on white petals.
Well, mine are all labelled so I shouldn’t need a book in my hand – except for planning the next purchases! This was a real surprise today, as the shoots have been there for a few weeks but the bud has only just popped up!
It will be a while before I see any shoots, but come on over to the commonweeder. I’m Giving Away a couple of great books. Christmas is coming!
This is usually the first of mine to flower, but even so it is appearing a little earlier than usual
Lovely signs of spring. Mine are just though too, but not as far as yours.
Oh indeed – I don’t think there any of the other specials coming through yet but when I scuffed around in the woodland edge border there were ‘commons’ poking their noses through which is early for them although they will be a long way off flowering yet.
Ooo, that says it all.
Yeeeeeay! I can hear you whoohooing from here Cathy.
And today really was the first sighting! 🙂
It is such a wonderful experience to watch our plants grow and eventually bloom…Appreciate the photos.
All the Galanthophiles are happy the season has begun, I may just be pressing like rather than commenting as I will run out of things to say quite quickly!
I think in the circumstances that would be most understandable, Christine – shame there isn’t a ‘like with gritted teeth’ button!!
I will like but judt not have anything to say, but i do lole to share everyone’s enthusiasm!
Bring it on…
oh if only in my garden now…
Doesn’t it make you happy. My grandmother would say, “Whee-Ha”
We have had a very mild November, December so far, I guess this is nature following the ground temperature.
This is an earlier one, Brian, but some of the not so early ones are showing green tips too
Must go and have a look! Hadn’t expected to be seeing these lovely shoots so soon!
I had seen the shoots on this one but only found the bud on Wednesday so was really excited 🙂
