I think the post title was lost on people Chloris, but I guess you will have got it – mine is labelled just as ‘Cheer’ but it looks as if it may be one and the same. It has flowered any time from Dec to May, but not in Nov before – lovely to see whenever it flowers
Not a common sight at this time of year. Just as well it’s winter flowering – or it could be a rather disturbing one. A very “Cheery” sight – and a cleverly composed post!
That is early Cathy, luckily the forecast is mild.
It does tend to have flowers over winter, certainly before the end of the year, but I have not seem them in November before so I was most excited!
Wow, that’s early! Hope you don’t get any frost soon.
It’s OK, Pauline, ‘Cheers’ is a winter flowering one, although not usually as early as this 🙂
Signs of spring. We have them too (but I am in the southern hemisphere, where it is spring)
aah, Spring….! This is a winter flowering rhododendron though, albeit a bit early!
Brilliant color!
Here’s my Wordless Wednesday!
What a lovely sight and so early. Is it Christmas Cheer?

Lovely to see buds — we’ll have snow soon
Brrr – and we are forecast a wet winter in the UK
Not sure if I’m worried or happy to see them, Cathy!
Winter flowering – so you can be happy, Cathy 🙂
Beautiful colour, a very hopeful sign.
A bit early, so a nice surprise 🙂
Bloomin’ ‘eck.
No, bloomin’ rhododendron, not bloomin’ ‘eck 😉

Thanks Ali – I am not sure everyone made the connection with the post title 😉
Our ornamental pear tree has blooms on it, which is unusual. Normal for it is Jan or Feb. They are nice to see.
It took me a minute to get the connection with the post title – but it’s a great image/photo combo!
