A little sad really!
I am afraid there is a big pile of them to be sad about, Christina 😉
Here’s mine: Pumpkin Truck!
The different colours in it are so intriguing
I tried to count the rings to know how old the tree was, lol !
I started counting them too, Gattina, but couldn’t count the middlerings from the photo so must go and look at the real thing again! I planted it in 2000 and it was probably about 3 years old then, so I know roughly what to expect – but was wondering why the earlier rings are a distinctly different colour…
Amazing, isn’t it, how fire can bring us either comfort or chaos? My WW
Oh the core is slightly cherry coloured Cathy 🙂 Is it scented when it burns?
Unfortunately we have no chimneys (removed by last owner) so no facilities for burning, but the Golfer trundled the logs round to our neighbour’s so we will have to sniff the air and find out! It wasn’t until you mentioned the colour, Anna, that I remembered that out bedroom furniture is cherry veneer, which is indeed the yellow-brown of the outer rings….
