Gallivanting Again

Taking advantage of the delayed arrival this summer of our long awaited campervan, we are hoping to use it regularly for one or two nights away. This time we are gallivanting in deepest Shropshire, distanced from wi-fi hotspots and internet access generally, so I won’t be sharing any gems till our return – but hopefully this minimal post can be sent from my phone, a technological first for me!

    Impressive use of technology!
Did I miss the formal opening of the rambling camping van?
    Enjoy your gallivanting rambling.

    • Cathy says:

No formal opening, Christine, it just rambled into our lives after a 9 month wait just on time to go up to the Commonwealth Games in July – and mow we can begin to really reap the benefits, like going up to the Outer Hebrides in it! Hope your travels are going as planned too

  2. Are you planning any garden visits while in the depths of Shropshire? Anyway, enjoy your new adventure!

    What an outstanding post!
Thanks a lot for sharing!, best wishes, Aquileana 😀

A camper van is something I’ve always fancied… have a great break!

Oh glad to read that you are gallivanting Cathy and deepest Shropshire is a most fine spot. I wonder whether you might be heading to Morville on your travels? 🙂

    • Cathy says:

Yes indeed, as you will see, and it has been great to use the van ‘properly’, really taking advantage of the freedom it brings 🙂

  6. Annette says:

Sounds great, Cathy, and don’t stress yourself too much with the wish to be in touch with the rest of the world. It’s nice to (really!) get away from it all, so enjoy and discover…and relax. Did I tell you that Monsieur got an old (ancient rather) funeral undertaker’s van which he’s now converting into a camper? After my post about him pruning the climbers he threatened to paint it black and adorn it with the painting of a skull…anyway, we drove off in it for a sunset picnic two nights ago…rather nice 😉

    • Cathy says:

No – you didn’t mention about your hearse aka campervan, Annette! How exciting! You will soon be going through the same process as we are – we really enjoyed the couple of days away and hope to get away perhaps every month, if only for a day. And far from stressing (don’t do stress, anyway) myself about keeping in touch with the rest of the world I have totally chilled for the two days, not rushing off first thing in the morning, and doing lots of sitting and reading in between visits.

  7. Hi Cathy, I hope you have a most relaxing and enjoyable time! I miss the days when I was a child and we’d go camping in our camper (American terminology!). We loved those vacations! Enjoy! Dana

  8. have a good time away from technology Cathy, Frances
