LOL! We have exactly the same thing happening here…. so many hazelnuts this year, but whether there will be any left for us in another question! The squirrels are probably responsible, but we have dormice too.
The one year we tried to keep some for ourselves we struggled to get them to a stage when they were palatable – must check out the best way to do it.
Bright eyed and bushy tailed..
… and with a belly full of hazelnuts 😉
hah! I know that feeling.
Beastly things. They never leave me a single walnut.
How inconsiderate! Most of our hazels are self-seeded so I don’t mind sharing them, and they are making a lovely crunchy sound when I walk down the garden (the shells, that is, not the squirrels) – it’s the nuts being buried in random places that are a pain. It seems odd that I have not seen a squirrel in the garden at all this year
Looks like potpourri….love your blog!
Thanks Carrie – glad you like the blog 🙂
Nice shot! Please share at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2014/08/frooms-with-linky.html
We too, are seeing the evidence – though the culprits are making themselves very obvious. They’re a very brazen pair – as fearless as domestic pets!
Brazen is par for the course, I think! Not only have we not seen one this year they only ever come in ones – whether it is the same one or not I don’t know 😉
