Home Again, Home Again to Find a Fat Hog

DSCN2316

Making a detour for another visit on the way home today meant it was getting dark by the time we got back (unlike the lighter nights at my Mum’s), meaning that taking today’s photographs would be difficult. A very rapid ramble round the garden brought an assault on the senses from the battery of roses and honeysuckle that are now in bloom, but I shall have to wait till tomorrow to fully appreciate their delights – and to check on the greenhouse and evicted young plants, as I think it may have stayed dry while we were away. Having put the chickens to bed I was just on my way back to the house, pleased not to have come across evidence of fowl deeds from next door’s escapee, when I noticed that we DID have a visitor after all, a more welcome one…..

Fantastic, nice to know you have your own slug patrol! We have only seen one a couple of times here, but we know that it is there by all the messages that it leaves everywhere!

    • Cathy says:

We haven’t seen a parent for a long time, and only occasionally see a young one, but they do have plenty of places to hide!

  2. Anna says:

Oh what a welcome visitor Cathy. It’s been a good few years since I’ve seen a hedgehog In the garden and sadly the last couple I have seen elsewhere were both dead 😦

    • Cathy says:

I had heard one recently, snuffling about when I rambled down the garden to close the greenhouse, but it is always a thrill to see one and know we share a garden
