    How come mushrooms tend to grow where we don’t want them, but when my husband tries to cultivate them, they give us all sorts of trouble.

      Thanks for dropping in, Sheryl. It’s one of Life’s imponderables, I think, although in this case I am guessing that this brand of compost must have included some spent mushroom compost 🙂

      I am humbled! Mind you, the Concybe sp. were very well behaved and stood perfectly still whilst I took their picture – posers! I am fairly sure the spores must have come in the compost as it wasn’t the only seed tray they appeared in – what would be their normal habitat?
