365 Days of Opportunity – Looking Forward

hyacinth vaseBeing blessed with a practical and positive nature I see every day as a day of opportunities – thus making 2013 a whole 365 days of opportunity. What will I discover? What will I learn? Gardens are full of things to discover, and this time of year leading up to spring and a whole new growing season is an especially productive time for new discoveries. The blue sky and sunshine early in the day welcomed me outside with open arms, where I chanced upon the sweet smell of sarcococca in the air, more shreds of colour on the witch hazels, countless green snowdrop spears pushing their way upwards and a number of as yet modest hellebore buds unfurling from the damp soil. Back inside, I checked on my hyacinths – progressing well, but not quite time to shun the darkness.
