Just a drop more….

Lonicera x brownii 'Dropmore Scarlet'

I spotted this honeysuckle ( Lonicera x brownii ‘Dropmore Scarlet’) in flower yesterday and photographed it in this morning’s sunshine which is gradually warming the air and clearing the overnight ground frost. Although this honeysuckle has been in this position for about 10 years, trained against a south facing wall, it has never amounted to much, although it does seem to have some new bushy growth this year; I suspect, however, that its lack of progess may  largely be from unintended neglect as there is a certain amount of woody stem that would benefit from being pruned. I shall attend to it today!
