Love this Ophiopogon, my clump is getting so big now. I keep taking bits off to plant elsewhere but the original clump, which is growing in the gravel at the back, has now spread and looks like a black sheepskin rug measuring 5ft by almost 3ft – all this from one little plant!
Yet some people think it invasive – I love the comparison with a black sheepsking rug! I have a friend who occasionally has another little clump from me, but mine is still nowhere near as big as yours, more like a large black hedgehog!
I am another ophiophogon fan, I was so happy to find lots growing here when we moved, I am gradually shifting it to the nursery bed while I ponder where best to use it.
The ‘nursery bed’? That sounds a bit posh!
